HM King congratulated on UNHRC membership

Manama, Oct. 17 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has received a cable of congratulations from the Advisor to HM the King for Legislative Branch Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Ali bin Al-Shaikh Mansoor Al-Sitri, on Bahrain’s UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) membership win for the period 2019-2021. Al-Sitri extended to HM King Hamad sincere congratulations on Bahrain’s election as a UNHRC member by 165 votes, or 86 per cent of the UN General Assembly’s members. He stressed that the well-deserved UNHRC membership is a global recognition of HM the King’s efforts and sound approach of supporting human rights, preserving freedoms, and consolidating the principles of tolerance, co-existence and peace among various religions and cultures in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development in various fields under the pioneering royal Reform Project. He wished Bahrain more landmark achievements and gains, as well as abundant health, happiness and long life to HM King Hamad.
