Bahrain Deputy Premier congratulates award-winning poet

Manama, Nov. 1 (BNA): Deputy Premier His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa today received award-winning poet Ali Abdullah Khalifa, President of Bahrain-based International Organization of Folk Art (IOV). HH Shaikh Mohammed congratulated Ali Khalifa on recently being awarded the People's Republic of China award for global cultural communication. The poet was honoured by Shanghai governor in the presence of senior officials and guests. The organization and its chief were honoured for their role in promoting folk art locally and international which boosts the communication between nations and peoples regardless of their ethnic background or nationality in amity and peace. The Bahraini poet’s honouring was tantamount to honouring his homeland Bahrain and for his continuous work efforts in preservation and enrichment of folk art locally and globally, said His Highness. The poet expressed his gratitude and appreciation of His Highness for his continuous support to the IOV and to folk art and to him personally over the years, that helped him in his literary, intellectual career in Bahrain and around the world.
