NIHR's complaints committee holds 17th meeting

Manama, Nov. 1 (BNA): The Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee at the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) today held its 17th meeting under the chairmanship of Maria Khoury, in the presence of members Khaled Abdulaziz Al Shaer and Rawdha Salman Al-Aradi.   The committee reviewed seven complaints received by the NIHR related to the right to physical and moral integrity, as well as the right for health.   The panel also reviewed the legal assistance cases delivered during September and October, which reached 32, in addition to two cases monitored through mass media and social media networks.   The NIHR also received 87 complaints through the toll-free hotline during the same period.   The committee also reviewed the announced field visit carried out by a NIHR delegation to the Women's Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre to identify their general condition, and make sure that they received their legally-prescribed rights, and according to the executive regulation of the Reformation and Rehabilitation Directorate.   The NIHR receives complaints or legal assistance requests through personal presence, or via the toll-free hotline (80001144), website (www.nihr.org.bh) or smart phone application (NIHR Bahrain).
