BANGKOK, November 5 (TNA) - Most respondents in a recent survey have said they wanted incumbent Bangkok Governor Police General Asawin Kwanmuang, who was appointed by the Thai junta in October 2016, to remain in office after the new general election in the country early next year. Dr. Noppadon Kannika, Director and Founder of the SUPER POLL Research Institute for Community Happiness and Leadership under the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, told journalists that 75.9 per cent of the 1,192 respondents in the recent random survey, conducted by his institute in the capital during October25-November 2, 2018, wanted the incumbent Bangkok governor to remain staying in his office. Dr. Noppadon said the recent poll found most respondents, or about 56.6, viewed that the incumbent Bangkok governor, who was appointed by the Thai army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), has brought about positive changes to the city, namely several regulated footpaths, new lighting facilities at local communities and more cleared and clean public spaces. According to the SUPER POLL top management, most of the respondents, however, raised concerns over some remaining issues in the city and demanded urgent actions to solve the problems, including traffic congestion at 74.7 per cent, the drug problem in local communities and some schools at 61.3 per cent, road safety at 58.6 per cent and our of order or damaged close circuit televisions (CCTVs) at 55.7 per cent, as well as garbage and pollution at 55.7 per cent. "The recent survey showed almost 80 per cent of the respondents wanted the incumbent Bangkok governor to remain in his office after early next year's general election", the SUPER POLL director and founder stated.
