Electricity minister hails royal initiative

Manama, Nov.10 (BNA): Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza hailed the inauguration of the King Hamad Chair for Interfaith Dialogue at the University of Sabinza in Rome. This is an initiative of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to consolidate dialogue and strengthen bridges of communication and coexistence between all sects and religions. Dr. Mizra conveyed his congratulations to His Majesty on adopting initiatives which strengthen Bahrain and place it among the countries advocating interfaith dialogue. He applauded His Majesty in extending bridges of communication and promoting mutual dialogue between all, and to strengthen the global status enjoyed by Bahrain to respect all communities and religions. He said this comes out of His Majesty the King's keenness to launch world-wide initiatives of great importance, especially in a prestigious university such as the University of Sabinza in Rome, which was founded in 1303, to open intellectual horizons for students and those interested in dialogue of religions and cultural and intellectual diversity, contributing to the values of tolerance and openness to others. The initiative is a pioneering civilisational initiative to promote tolerance and peaceful co-existence between all sects and religions and is a noble humanitarian message to all people, affirming that Bahrain enjoyed a diversity of sects, religions and peaceful coexistence since ancient times. He said all this highlights the bright and honorable image of Bahrain all on this diversity, which is a human and cultural heritage based on mutual respect and belonging to the land.
