Bahrain-Philippines cooperation discussed

Manama, Nov. 11 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humdaidan today met Special Presidential Envoy of the Philippines Republic to the Gulf Cooperation Countries, Dr. Amable Aguiluz. They discussed the bilateral cooperation in the field of labour and human resources development as well as the successful experiences of both countries regarding citizens’ employment and social protection schemes. The minister stressed the importance of the cooperation especially in the field of labour and exchange of technical expertise as well as areas of human resources development. The minister also praised the role of the Philippines' community in Bahrain and its contribution in the Kingdom’s progress. Dr. Aguiluz praised the fruitful cooperation ties between his country and Bahrain in various fields thanks to the keenness to develop these ties on the part of the two governments. He also praised the current progress of Bahrain thanks to its advanced national legislations including foreign investment and the protection of workers. He commended Bahrain’s care given to the Filipino community and the Kingdom’s advanced labour market regulations and social protection programmes.
