Minister to announce decisions on regulating fishing, preserving marine resources

Manama, Nov. 12 (BNA): Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Issam bin Abdullah Khalaf, tomorrow will hold a meeting with media and executive editors, columnists and representatives of local newspapers to announce decisions on regulating fishing for the protection of marine resources. The move is to implement a Cabinet decision on authorizing the competent minister to take a set of measures aimed at regulating fishing for the development of marine resources and to prevent the deterioration of fish stocks due to overfishing. In addition to encouraging fish farming as an economic and food resource, as approved by the Cabinet. Officials from the competent agencies are scheduled to participate in the meeting to shed light on the government efforts to regulate fishing and protecting marine resources.
