Labour minister attends GCC meetings

Kuwait, Nov.14(BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan led Bahrain’s delegation to the meetings of the GCC labour and social affairs ministers’ committees. The three-day sessions which opened on the 12th of November were held under the patronage of Kuwait’s Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Minister of State for Economic Affairs Hind Sabeeh Barak Al-Sabeeh.. Humaidan stressed Bahrain’s keenness on pushing forward the march of GCC joint work and exchange successful practices towards achieving sustainable development. The meeting focused on key labour issues, particularly the employment of the GCC nationals, and spotlighted a report on the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals which were endorsed by the United Nations. The ministers endorsed a joint strategy aimed at consolidating the competitiveness of of the national workforce in the GCC employment market through initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing their contribution and developing their productivity and competitiveness. Bahrain will undertake preparations for a training workshop on challenges facing the GCC member states in categorizing people with physical disabilities, in addition to launching a guide focusing on this category during 2019.
