Bahrain's Foreign Minister of receives WHO Director-General

Manama, Nov. 18 (BNA): Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, received the Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who is currently visiting Bahrain to participate in the First Gulf Health Insurance Conference and Exhibition. The event is held under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and organised by the Supreme Council of Health in cooperation with Health Ministry. The minister valued the efforts of WHO in addressing global health issues and strengthening health systems for WHO member states. He affirmed the Kingdom’s support to these efforts as well as its keenness to reinforce cooperation with the WHO to achieve all desired goals, wishing all participants in the event success. WHO Director-General hailed the efforts and initiatives of Bahrain regarding the development of regional and international cooperation in the field of Universal Health Coverage, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
