Bahrain's Minister of Affairs receives Former Secretary-General of the United Nations

Manama, Nov. 18 (BNA): Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, received Former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, who is currently visiting Bahrain. The minister congratulated him on receiving the “Khalifa bin Salman Award for Sustainable Development”, in recognition of his tireless efforts in promoting international cooperation to achieve Sustainable Development Goals during his tenure as Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN). Ban Ki-moon expressed his pleasure to visit the Kingdom and his great pride in receiving the “Khalifa bin Salman Award for Sustainable Development”, which is considered an embodiment of Bahrain's policy in maintaining close cooperation with the UN. He also noted the Kingdom’s keenness to achieve sustainable development as a basis for spreading security and peace in the region and the world, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
