BANGKOK, November 19 (TNA) - The Election Commission of Thailand (EC) will hold a new meeting with representatives of political parties in Bangkok later this week to discuss issues on electoral candidates and the mini-primary vote.
EC Deputy Secretary-General Sawang Boonmee told journalists that the next EC meeting with representatives of legally-registered political parties, the 4th of its kind, has been set on November 22, chaired by EC Chairman Ithiporn Boonprakong.
According to the EC deputy secretary-general, more than 200 representatives of 64 Thai political parties have confirmed to attend the next Thursday's meeting.
Besides, more than 30 representatives of 11 political groups, which are seeking the EC's approval of their status as legally-registered political parties, will attend the upcoming meeting.
"The agenda of the coming Thursday's meeting include updated notifications and a Q&A channel on the EC's rules and regulations concerning electoral candidates and the
mini-primary vote in compliance with Thailand's new Constitution", said the EC deputy secretary-general.
The Thai military administration has tentatively set February 24, 2019 as the country's new general election date, with the electoral process to begin next month. (TNA)
