Capital Governorate signs cooperation MoU with Hangzhou, China

Hangzhou, (BNA): The Capital Governorate signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friendly Cooperation with Hangzhou to enhance cooperation in the areas of logistics, transportation, financial services, tourism and training. Additionally, both cities will work to establish formal dialogues and regular visit exchange of high-tech companies. Capital Governor, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, and Vice Mayor of Hangzhou, Chen Weiqiang, signed the agreement. The agreement is part the programme of the visit of the high-level Bahraini business delegation to China within a tour organised by the Economic Development Board (EDB). It was signed on the sidelines of the Bahrain – Zhejiang Business Forum in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The Cooperation Agreement signed by the Capital Governorate is the second of its kind with a Chinese city as the Governorate had already signed a similar one with Shenzhen City in 2016. The agreement was signed ahead of two countries’ celebrations of 30 years of their diplomatic ties in 2019. Shaikh Hisham said that the Capital Governorate is keen to open up greater horizons of cooperation with Hangzhou City, voicing admiration for the progress boom witnessed by the city, especially in the economic fields. He expressed confidence that the MoU with Hangzhou will pave the way for launching projects that benefit the two cities.
