Thai People’s Supreme Prosecutor delegation visits Laos
(KPL) A high ranking delegation of the Thai People’s Supreme Prosecutor led by its head Mr. Chaikasem Nitisiri who was accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha arrived here on 17 March for two day working visit to Laos as a guest of the Lao People’s Supreme Prosecutor.
The visit aimed to strengthen relations and co-operation between the two countries as a whole and the two organizations in particular, in combating trans-national crime.
The Thai delegation on 17 March paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Thongsing Thammavong, President of the National Assembly, Mr. Somsavat Lengsavad, Standing Deputy Prime Minister and Mr. Khammy Xayavong, President of People’s Supreme Court.
The visit was in line with a memorandum of understanding made between the two bodies in 2004 in Bangkok, Thailand, and the ASEAN-China People’s Supreme Prosecutor Meeting’s Joint Statement on the maintenance of regional stability and anti-trans-national crime signed in July 2004 in Kunming, China.
