3M Sees Further Business Opportunities in Malaysia

By Rozlin Rusharmeen Rosmin KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- With support from the government, Fortune 500 company 3M is bullish about expanding its business in the Malaysian market.   The global science company from the United States, which has operated here for 50 years, still believes that Malaysia has the right "landscape” for growth, said 3M Malaysia Sdn Bhd Managing Director Parameswaran Nair. Apart from the government's support and policies, talent and accessibility were also vital to market the company's products locally, he said.  "Malaysia is a fabulous landscape for us. If you look at Southeast Asia, Malaysia has got the right talent. And we have got ample talent. “Apart from that, the government is pro-business. Hence we got a lot of support from the government," he told Bernama during the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2018 (KLIMS 18) Tuesday.   3M was one of the exhibitors at KLIMS 18. With corporate operations in 70 countries, the global group produces more than 60,000 products. Its Safety, Graphic and Business Group General Manager, Lim Geok Tian, emphasised the extra security, safety and solar rejection from 3M AutoFilm.    "Especially for female drivers, the (window film) helps deter any smash-and-grab cases; thus I would encourage customers to come over and experience our products.  “We would be able to guide you on how to select the right auto film for your car based on the technologies that we have," he said.     The 10-day KLIMS 18, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, ends on Dec 2. -- BERNAMA
