King of Bahrain assigns Premier to nominate ministers

Manama, (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa issued Royal Order 55 of 2018, accepting the Cabinet resignation. Article 1 stipulates the acceptance of the Cabinet resignation from the date of the issuance of the above-mentioned royal order. Under article 2, HRH the Premier has been assigned to take care of urgent state affairs pending formation of the new-look Cabinet. Under article 3, the Royal Order shall take effect from the date of its issuance and publication in the Official Gazette. HM the King has also issued Royal Order 56 of 2018, appointing the Prime Minister, based on the constitutional provisions and Royal Order 55 of 2018, stipulating the acceptance of the Cabinet resignation. Under Article 1, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa has been appointed as Premier and assigned to nominate members of the new cabinet, in compliance with article 46 of the constitution. Under article 2, the royal order shall take effect from the date of its issuance and publication in the Official Gazette. HM the King had received a letter from HRH the Premier, submitting the resignation of the Cabinet, in compliance with paragraph (e) of article (33), which stipulates the re-formation of the Cabinet at the start of each legislative term of the National Assembly. HRH the Premier said he was honoured by the royal assignment to serve as Prime Minister over the past four years, during which he spared no efforts to implement HM the King’s vision and aspirations to consolidate Bahrain’s democracy and constitutionally-vested institutions and pursue the pace of achievements. HRH the Premier highlight the past challenges which took their toll on all aspects of national work, which required double efforts to reach solutions, overcome challenges, protect achievements and ensure citizens decent living standards. He underlined the cabinet’s keenness on implementing the Government Action Plan (GAP) and carry out projects and development programmes, to cement the foundations of justice, security and stability, enhance the performance of the government and bolster cooperation between the executive and legislative branches. HRH the Premier announced that he would start consultations, in compliance with royal directives, to nominate ministers and submit them to HM the King to take the adequate decisions. HM the King sent a letter to HRH the Premier, hailing his dedicated efforts to lead the Government, attain achievements and strengthen the pillars of development on the basis of justice, sustainability and competitiveness. He commended HRH the Premier’s wisdom, which enable the Government to brave all circumstances and challenges, over the past four years, and implement development projects and programs cited in the GAP 201502918. HM the King expressed delight at assigning HRH the Premier to form the new cabinet and continue strenuous efforts to achieve desired goals, implement programmes and policies and optimize state resources. HM the King paid tribute to conscious-minded Bahraini people for their massive participation in the 2018 parliamentary and municipal elections, firm belief in democracy and unwavering determination to contribute to their country’s development and progress. HM the King expressed confidence in the ability of HRH the Premier to assume national responsibilities and set priorities towards achieving people’s aspirations and hopes to strengthen democracy, bolster security and stability, promote executive-legislative cooperation towards serving the 2030 Bahrain Economic Vision. HM the King stressed the necessity of building on gains which were achieved and reach the fiscal stability and economic stability, urging all necessary measures to achieve fiscal balance, continue sustainable development efforts and develop basic educational, health and social care services and upgrade infrastructure.
