HM King of Bahrain receives HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad

Manama, (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa has received, at Al-Safriya Palace, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Council (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad presented to HM the King a book compiled by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, highlighting Bahrainis’ landmark achievements in the prosperous era. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa also presented to HM the King a report which focuses on the King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award for achieving sustainable development and highlights its objectives and mission. HM the King stressed the importance of the book which represents a reference that documents the pioneering achievements of an elite of Bahraini personalities in the fields of art, culture, health, sport, science and academia on the GCC, Arab and international levels. He commended the dedicated efforts exerted by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to serve the sectors of youth and sports, stressing his keenness on bolstering the standing of Bahrain among advanced nations in the world. HM the King lauded the youth achievements in the recent parliamentary and municipal elections, pointing out the category of voters aged 20 to 30 had exceeded 30% of the overall number of citizens who cast their ballots, hailed the high youth voter turn-out which was not achieved by many longstanding democracies in the world. HM the King has also congratulated Bahraini women who increased their presence in the Council of Representatives by 15 per cent, describing the landmark achievements as a source of pride in national historic annals. He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to serve youth and sport work and adopt initiatives aimed at channeling youth energies to serve the nation and achieve comprehensive development goals, being the real asset of the nation and the driving engine to build the nation and enhance society.
