Qatar Participates, For The Last Time, in OPEC Meetings
Vienna, December 07 (QNA) - The of Qatar took part, for the last time, in the meetings of the Organization of Oil Exporting Countries (OPEC)
HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Eng. HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi headed the delegation of the State of Qatar to the meeting. The participation came after the State of Qatar announced its withdrawal from the Organization membership on Monday.
HE Eng. Al Kaabi participated in the Ordinary Ministerial Conference No. 175, which was held in Vienna on Thursday to discuss a number of important issues related to developments in the world oil market and production levels. The meeting listened to a number of reports, including OPEC Secretary-General's report on the oil market forecast and the report of the 130th meeting of the Economic Committee Council.
His Excellency held a number of side discussions on the margin of his participation in OPEC meetings.
HE Eng. Al Kaabi met with HE Kuwiat's Minister of Oil Bakheet Al-Rashidi, HE Oman's Oil Minister Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhi, HE Iraqi Oil Minister Thamer Al Ghadhban , HE Iran's Minister of Oil Bijan Zangeneh and HE Malaysia's Minister of Economic Affairs Mohamed Azmin Ali.
Talks during the meetings dealt with bilateral relations and cooperation in the field of energy, and the latest developments and challenges facing the energy industry in general and the OPEC in particular.
HE the Minister of State for Energy Affairs also met with OPEC Secretary General Mohammed Barkindo, where they discussed Qatar's decision to withdraw from the Organization. During the meeting, His Excellency thanked the Secretary General and the officials of the Organization. (QNA)
