Airport Modernisation Programme asset management strategy highlighted

Manama, Dec. 7 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah presented a keynote speech discussing the Airport Modernisation Programme’s (AMP) asset management strategy during the 5th Middle East Maintenance and Reliability Conference and Exhibition (Maintcon) 2018. A number of industry professionals from around world gathered for the biennial event, which provides a platform to discuss the latest maintenance, reliability, and asset management trends.
Held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Oil Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Maintcon 2018 took place from 25 to 28 November. It was organised by the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability (GSMR) in coordination with the Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE).
The theme for Maintcon 2018, which is the only event of its kind in the region, was ‘Innovative Solutions in Maintenance, Reliability & Asset Management’. It included presentations by expert speakers, panel discussions, technical sessions, and interactive workshops. In addition, leading regional and international equipment suppliers showcased new global technologies during the technical exhibition.
During his keynote presentation, Mr Al Binfalah said: “Focusing on maintenance, reliability, and asset management can increase the competitiveness of any industry by reducing assets costs of ownership and downtime while improving output and safety. The decisions we make as industry professionals have the potential to impact the growth and development of the region’s infrastructure for years to come, which is why staying abreast of the latest trends and sharing best practices is crucial. Sustaining operational excellence is a pillar of BAC’s strategy for Bahrain International Airport (BIA) and, through the Airport Modernisation Programme, we are taking significant steps to enhance BIA’s efficiency for the benefit of passengers and stakeholders alike. The AMP is a meticulously planned project from start to finish and our comprehensive asset management strategy will play a key role in ensuring its overall success.”
