HM King of Bahrain arrives in Riyadh

Manama, Dec. 9 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Riyadh to head Bahrain’s delegation to the 39th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)’s Supreme Council session. His Majesty the King was received by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Their Royal Highnesses princes, government ministers, and GCC Secretary-General Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. In a statement upon arrival, HM the king said: "We are pleased as we land in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to express our pride with the deep-rooted and fraternal relations between our two countries. Our relations keep on expanding steadily and continue to be anchored in the strong bonds of brotherhood and love. These relations will always be a model of cohesion and complementarity thanks to their special status. The priority is to move them to a broader perspective on all levels. We express our sincere thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his generous invitation to attend the 39th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council. We reiterate our deep appreciation for the untiring efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the regional and international arenas to reinforce security and peace and preserve the capabilities and interests of sates and peoples. We affirm that our meeting, which embodies the unity of purpose and common destiny, stems from the great responsibility and vital role played by the GCC at various levels. It is an important opportunity to work on developing joint action and finding the best ways to overcome the numerous challenges we face and deal effectively with developments and changes that may threaten the achievements of our peoples during the progress of the Council. We look forward to the success of the summit under the leadership of our brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and to come out with important decisions to enhance the forward-looking progress of the GCC to achieve the interests of its peoples and fulfill the their aspirations for further progress and prosperity."
