Flooding Recedes in Nakhon Si Thammarat

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, Dec 18 (TNA) – Flooding has receded in Nakhon Si Thammarat’s provincial seat after rainfall decreased last night. The situation has returned to normal in the business areas and residents have cleaned their houses and shops this morning. However, flooding remains in some low-lying areas, where roads are impassable for motorcycles. The authorities expect to drain all floodwater out of the town by today if there is no more rain. Local Disaster Prevention and Mitigation office reports two persons are still missing in two districts. One is a ten-year-old boy and the other is a 70-year-old man. Flooding has affected about 140,000 residents in 20 districts. (TNA)
