Employment exhibition extended until tomorrow

Manama, Dec. 19 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan has reaffirmed the continuous inclusion of ‘differently-abled’ persons in the labour market’s various production sectors.
The ministry has continued to allocates jobs for this special category of dear citizens who are capable of creativity, excellence and productivity. The job show has been extended until tomorrow to help them find suitable employment and their provision with the required vocational skills.
This came as the Minister Labour and Social Development today opened the Employment Fair for Handicapped Persons in the presence of officials, MPs, Northern Governor Ali bin Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, economists, traders, representatives of NGOs and professional societies.
Around 34 private establishments participated in the career exhibition. A total of 300 job vacancies were offered including 200 slots by the participating companies and 100 from the ministry’s Vacancies Bank, he said.
The ministry has revised and assessed all the job vacancies to befit the skills and capabilities of the ‘determined’ jobseekers category. The ministry also follows up the results of recruitment of all nominees sent to prospective employers to finalize the procedures and requirements for their inclusion in these companies and establishment in the private sector.
He pointed out that the disabled receive paramount care in the ministry’s projects and programmes including social welfare and rehabilitation through the provision of suitable workplace ergonomics for their inclusion in the labour market. Already 490 handicapped jobseekers found jobs and joined the national workforce over the past three years, according to the minister.
