Shura Council to form Reply to the Royal Speech, standing committees

Manama, Dec. 22 (BNA): The Shura Council will Sunday hold its second regular meeting of the first session of the fifth Legislative Term. The meeting will form the Reply to the Royal Speech Committee which was delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa while opening the first session of the Fifth Legislative Term. It will also review the letter addressed to the Shura Council by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on the decree-laws issued while the National Assembly was in recess, in accordance with Article 38 of the Constitution. The Shura Council will also form its eight standing committees, namely the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee, the Services Committee, the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee, the Public Utilities and Environment Committee, the Women and Child Committee, the Youth Affairs Committee and the Human Rights Committee. The chairmen and deputy chairmen of the standing committees will also be elected during the same meeting. The meeting will also elect four members who will represent the Shura Council in the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Delegation.
