BCCI to organise awareness VAT workshops

Manama, Dec. 23 (BNA): In a bid to raise the awareness of the private sector on the implementation and implications of the Value-Added-Tax (VAT) due on January 1, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) represented by its Finance, Insurance and Tax Committee is organising a series of workshops to be held on December 25-27. The 3-day workshops will commence on December 25 at Bait al-Tijjar, including specialized sessions for each sector. The first day session will be dedicated for the financial services , real estate and constructions, the retail and wholesale sectors. The second day session will be dedicated for the manufacturing, export, and industry, food and beverages, tourism and health sectors. And the final day session will be dedicated for the education and transportation and insurance sectors. BCCI called all members of the business community to attend these workshops in preparation for the VAT.
