Shura Council forms Reply to the Royal Speech Committee

Manama, Dec. 23 (BNA): The Shura Council today held its second regular meeting of the first session of the fifth Legislative Term, under the chairmanship of Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh. The Shura Council formed the which was delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa while opening the first session of the Fifth Legislative Term, under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Chairman, Jamal Mohammed Fakhroo. The meeting also approved the proposal of the council’s Bureau on the membership of its standing committees. The meeting also elected the standing committees’ chairpersons and deputy chairpersons, as well as the four members who will represent the Shura Council in the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Delegation. At the outset, the session approved the minutes of the previous meeting, and then the Secretary-general, Chancellor Osama Ahmed Al-Asfoor, expressed, on behalf of the Shura Council, heartfelt congratulations to the Christian community in Bahrain and all over the world marking Christmas. He highlighted the values of tolerance and harmony that have always distinguished the Bahraini society, expressing hope that love, fraternity, security and peace will prevail across the world. Then, the meeting reviewed the letter addressed to the Shura Council by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on the decree-laws issued while the National Assembly was in recess, in accordance with Article 38 of the Constitution.
