CSB signs memo with Customs Affairs

Manama, Dec. 26 (BNA): The Civil Service Bureau (CSB) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Interior’s Customs Affairs on the implementation and modernization of quality management systems in the administrative apparatus of the Customs Affairs. The President of the Customs Affairs, Shaikh Ahmed Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Mr. Ahmed Bin Zayed Al-Zayed, the President of the Civil Service Bureau, signed the memorandum at the Customs Affairs headquarters. The signing of the agreement between the Civil Service Bureau and the Customs Affairs is based on the Civil Service Law promulgated by Legislative Decree No. 48 of 2010, Article 12; on giving the Civil Service Bureau responsibility of managing institutional performance, the application of quality systems in government bodies, and implementation of the Council of Ministers Resolution No. 33 of 2004. The memorandum of understanding aims to create the administrative apparatus of the Customs Affairs to implement the quality management system and provide technical support, training and administrative support to ensure that all the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 are met. CSB will prepare a plan for supervising and auditing the implementation of the quality management system in the Customs Affairs headquarters. The project includes five basic stages including spreading the culture of quality, the process of documentation and development, training and support, internal and external audits in preparation for ISO certification, and providing advice and guidance regarding the use of appropriate technologies to implement the quality management system. The two parties stressed the importance of effective coordination and continuous support during the implementation phases of the project and the experimental and actual application of the system, which will achieve and support access to the desired results from the application of quality management system in the administrative apparatus of the Customs Affairs. The President of the Civil Service Bureau thanked the administrative body of the Customs for their keenness and initiative to implement the quality management system in cooperation with the CSB. He stressed that this reflects their keen interest in upgrading their services, enhancing continuous development, promoting joint work and providing the best government services.
