Alba women honoured

Manama, Dec. 26 (BNA): Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), a leading employer of women in the Bahraini industrial sector, celebrated Bahraini Women’s Day today at the Alba Oasis Hall. Attended by over 100 female employees of the Company, the celebration was in honour for their valuable contribution in the Company’s success. Alba’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Baqali, Chief Administration Officer Waleed Tamimi, Chief Operations Officer Abdulla Habib, Chief Power Officer Amin Sultan and Manager Legal Stephanus Grobler were present at the celebration where the female employees were felicitated with a gift as a token of the Company’s appreciation. In his speech, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Baqali said: "Women make a positive impact on the business. Celebrating Bahraini Women’s Day is an opportunity for us to recognize our female employees' contribution as well as their successes. Alba is committed towards empowering its female employees to take higher position in the Company." Widely praised for its gender equality, Alba is reputed to be an industrial leader in offering training as well as career development opportunities for women in Bahrain. Bahraini Women’s Day, celebrated on 01 December of each year, is an initiative by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President of the Supreme Council for Women. The theme of this year’s celebration is Women in the Legislative and Municipal Fields.
