Bahrain's Minister of Finance and National Economy meets the government’s directors and heads of Finance

Manama, Dec. 26(BNA): The Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, today met with the government’s directors and heads of finance, who were transferred to the Ministry of Finance and National Economy following decree (No.49/2018), and recently seconded back to their ministries. HE Shaikh Salman underscored the importance of promoting efficient and effective government spending to achieve fiscal balance and to support all public initiatives that serve citizens. HE Shaikh Salman went on noting that fiscal sustainability is a joint responsibility that requires constructive strategic cooperation among all government entities’ finance directorates, particularly through implementing best practices in the field of financial management and expenditure control. In this regard, HE Shaikh Salman stated that the ministry will hold these meetings on a regular basis, and will work on improving all government financial procedures. HE then highlighted the ministry’s ongoing initiatives that aim to enhance spending efficiency and increase government revenue, strengthening the Kingdom’s fiscal balance.
