Health Ministry marks Bahraini Women's Day

Manama, Dec. 27 (BNA): The Equal Opportunities Unit at the Health Ministry held a celebration to mark the Bahraini Women’s Day 2018 titled (Women in the legislative field and municipal work) under the patronage of Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh. The celebration was attended by Health officials, representatives of the Professions and Health Services Regulatory Authority, the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), the Shura and Representatives councils and Capital Secretariat. The minister, in her speech, praised the initiative of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King, SCW President, to allocate December 1 as a day to celebrate Bahraini women’s achievements. The minister noted the honouring of a number of the ministry’s employees, doctors and nurses, who participated in the legislative and municipal fields, highlighting the ministry's keenness to promote women's contributions in the field of health to improve health services. 110 Health employees and 8 former members of the Shura and Representatives councils and Capital Secretariat were honoured.
