SCE introduces new environmental supervisory project

Manama, (BNA): Chief Executive Director of the Supreme Council For Environment, Dr. Mohammed Mubarak bin Daina, chaired a meeting with a number of leading national companies, Bapco, Tatweer, Alba, Sulb, GPIC and Asri, to brief them on the SCE’s new supervisory project on the application of the environmental verification by Bahraini companies, which is starting in the current month. Specialized consulting companies accredited by the SCE will inspect the industrial companies’ control and verification data to ensure their compliance with the local environmental standards and legislations. The program is still voluntary at the present stage, it will contribute to the promotion of the industrial companies’ environmental compliance, ensuring the effective use of resources and energy, the search for solutions for the management of waste, chemicals and air emissions, in addition to supporting the companies’ environmental policies and management systems. The aforementioned companies welcomed joining the SCE’s voluntary programme and expressed readiness to cooperate with the SCE to implement the programme before it is officially adopted.
