Bahrain's Justice Minister receives UNCITRAL Secretary General

Manama, Jan. 8 (BNA): Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa received Secretary General of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Anna-Joubin Bret. The meeting was attended by Board of Trustees Chairperson of Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) Shaikha Haya bint Rashid Al Khalifa and BCDR-AAA Chief Executive Naseeb Ziyadah. Discussions focused on cooperation in the international trade law field regarding mainly issues pertaining to alternative ways to settle disputes, including arbitration and mediation. The Justice Minister underlined the importance of commercial arbitration and its role in promoting the investment climate and meeting the requirements of modern trade.
