Undersecretary of Ministry of Economy Says Trade with Turkey Exceeded QR7 Billion in 2018

Doha, January 16 (QNA) - HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce Sultan Bin Rashid Al Khater said that trade volume between the State of Qatar and Turkey exceeded QR7 billion last year, a 49-percent jump compared to the previous year. Speaking on the sidelines of the third edition of the Turkey Expo in Qatar, he said that the significant increase in trade ties reflects the strength of bilateral ties. He added that the growth was also an indication of the amount of investments the two countries made in one another. He noted that the attendance during this year's expo reflected the strong ties between the business communities of the two countries. He called on both parties to take advantage of the opportunity and announce a number of deals. A total of 120 Turkish companies participate in this year's edition. They come from different sectors that include real estate, building materials, food products, textiles, home furnishings, technology among many other industries. The investment of Turkish companies in the State of Qatar reached $16 billion. Qatar for its part is the second biggest in terms of investing in Turkey, with a total of $20 billion. (QNA)
