Bahraini women’s achievements highlighted

Manama, Jan. 16(BNA): King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence Board of Trustees’ Chairman Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa received a delegation from Johns Hopkins University, currently on visit to Bahrain in coordination with the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa briefed the delegation about the center’s goals, mission and achievements which reflect HM the King’s thought and philosophy about efforts to promote co-existence and tolerance in the world. He highlighted particularly the establishment of the King Hamad Chair for Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence which was launched at the prestigious Rome-based Sapienza University. He underlined Bahraini women’s strides and landmark participation in the political, diplomatic, economic and educational fields since dawning of the modern state in the 1920s. He said that women’s achievements gained further momentum in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, who provided women with historic opportunities to thrive and reveal their potential.
