Bahrain's deep-rooted tolerance, co-existence heritage highlighted

Manama, Jan. 20 (BNA): Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, said that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s efforts to promote tolerance and co-existence emanate from the authentic deep-rooted values of the Bahraini society. He also highlighted the role of all the segments of society to advance the nation, as well as maintain its capabilities and preserve its long-standing values. This came as Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa received here today the Jaffari Endowments’ Council Chairman, Shaikh Mohsen Abdulhussain Khalaf Al-Asfoor, in the presence of the members of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence’s board and the Jaffari Endowments Council. The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence was offered a valuable souvenir gift including an artistic work containing 13 Hadiths on tolerance, love, fraternity and human values. It was also offered a number of books issued by the Jaffair Endowments Council. Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa stressed that the values embraced by the Bahraini society are the outcome of histoorical efforts crowned by the enlightened vision of HM the King on consoldiating them and promoting them globally. Jaffari Endowments Council chairman said that Bahrain enjoys a distinguished status, and has been, throughout history, a cradle of civilisations and a meeting point for peoples of the world, stressing that it twill remain a land of co-existence, harmony and respect for all races, nationalities and religions. He pointed out that the kingdom has launched multiple initiatives aimed at strengtheing international support for HM King Hamad’s vision on peaceful co-existence and inter-faith dialogue. He highlighted the Jaffari Endowments’ Directorate’s keenness to support the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence and its initiatives. He asserted that the Directorate shares with the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence its goals to promote peace and moderation, as well as to reflect the image of Bahrain as an all-embracing land of love, peaceful co-existence and tolerance. He revealed the Directorate’s plans to issue publications that promote tolerance and co-existence in Arabic, English and possibly other languages.
