Speaker calls for enhancing cooperation with South Korea

Manama, Jan. 23 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has stressed the importance of enhancing parliamentary cooperation with all the councils of brotherly and friendly countries, as well as of bolstering cooperation with them in variosu fields, especially economy.   The speaker lauded the depth of the Bahraini-South Korean relations, South Korea’s firm stance in support of Bahrain’s anti-terror efforts, and the two countries’ joint understanding regarding regional security and stability.   The speaker made the statements as she received here today the chairman and members of the Bahraini-South Korean Parliamentary Friendship Committee, in the presence of the First Deputy Speaker, MP Abdulnabi Salman, and Head of the Convoy of Honour, MP Ahmed Sabah Al-Salloum.   They discussed ways to enhance joint parliamentary cooperation between two countries in the fields of frienship parliamentary committees and parliamentary management between the secretariat-generals.   They also discussed coordinating stances at Asian and international parliamentary gatherings on issues of common interest, as well as ways to bolster bilateral economic cooperation, particularly regarding joint investments, highlighting the available opportunities for South Korean investors in the Bahraini market.   The delegation of the National Assembly of South Korea lauded the Kingdom’s Reform Project, democratic process and civilisational achievements, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.   They also praised the kingdom’s distinguished stances vis-à-vis security, stability and comprehensive development, expressing hope that cooperation between the two countries and their friendly peoples will be strengthened in all fields.
