Air Pollution Worsens Today

BANGKOK, Jan 29 (TNA) – The dust pollution was critical on Rama II in Samut Sakhon Tuesday morning as the level of the particulate matter has reached 113 microgrammes per cubic metre while the air quality in Bangkok and surrounding areas has worsened in all areas. The Department of Pollution Control reported wind has weakened with no rain. The weather conditions caused high concentration of the fine dust, worsening the ongoing air pollution in the capital and surrounding provinces. Thirty-six air quality monitoring stations showed the particulate matter level surpassed the safety standard in Kanchanaphisek Road in Bang Khunthian district, Bangna sub-district in Bangna district, sub-district Khlong Chan in Bang Kapi district, sub-district Dindaeng in Dindaeng district, on Rama IX Road in Pathumwan district, Lat Phrao Road in Wang Thong Lang district, on Dindaeng Road in Din Daeng district, in sub-district Nakhon Pathom of Muang district in Nakhon Pathom province, in sub-district Bang Kruai in Bang Kruai district in Nonthaburi, in sub-district Khlong1 Khlong Luang district in Pathum Thani, sub-district Song Khanong in Phra Pradaeng district in Samut Prakan province, in sub-district Talat in Phra Pradaeng district in Samut Prakan. The department said wind has eased off and it could further cause accumulation of air pollutants this afternoon. (TNA)
