SCW secretary-general praises initiative to document Family Law in sign language Manama, Feb. 2 (BNA): Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Hala Al-Ansari, received here today Shura Council member, Dalal Jassim Al-Zayed. Al-Ansari lauded the efforts of Al-Zayed in supporting legislation related to women and family through her membership in the Shura Council or at the level of the Arab Parliament. She lauded Al-Zayed’s voluntary initiative to document the Family Law in the sign language and audio-record it so as to be used by the deaf, mute and blind people to raise their awareness and enhance the legal education for the special needs category so as to facilitate their access to judicial services in the country, expressing the SCW’s support for such a qualitative initiative. The Shura Council member extended thanks and appreciation to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and SCW President, for her constant support for the Bahraini women, and great interest in the stability of Bahraini women through the completion of the relevant legislative system and ensuring its good application. She asserted that her voluntary initiative will cover other laws in order to serve an important segment of the Bahraini society and ensure that they enjoy their constitutional rights to the fullest
