Oil Minister to patronise Ethylene Middle East Technology Conference, Exhibition

Manama, Feb. 2 (BNA): Under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, the Kingdom of Bahrain is hosting the Ethylene Middle East Technology Conference and Exhibition, during the period 13-14 February at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
The event is organised by the Middle East Energy Events, in cooperation and coordination with the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) and the support of a number of local, regional and global companies.
There will be a wide participation of interested researchers and specialists in order to exchange practical experiences and innovative ideas and strategies to reduce costs and increase the return and create value on issues related to planning, design, operation and maintenance.
The ministerl praised the organising committee for choosing the Kingdom of Bahrain to host this conference, because of the Kingdom’s good reputation in hosting such international events specialised in oil and industrial topics.
He emphasised the distinctive contribution of the region to the world of petrochemical industry as the main supplier of ethylene worldwide.
The ministerl noted that the Middle East region is witnessing a rapid global growth, thus being a vital center in the ethylene industry due to its ability to provide raw materials and global competition. In addition to the fact that the petrochemical industry is expected to see a marked rise in investment opportunities in emerging markets and major petrochemical projects.
He said that the conference gives a good opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience related to this vital sector, amongst the experts at the local, regional and international levels and amongst all participants of professionals and providers of technical and productive services.
It will also discuss the latest developments and challenges faced by the ethylene industry, he said.
The conference and accompanying exhibition will include a distinct programme through which scientific research and practical experiments will be presented and discussed by global speakers, executives, senior officials of oil companies and other relevant companies, and the most important topics that will be raised in this event are: The changing competitive landscape of petrochemicals in the GCC countries, the importance of operational excellence in the Middle Eastchemicals, crude oil to chemicals,learning and linear programming techniques and other important topics that enrich the conference.
The accompanying exhibition will attract a large number of interested and specialists in the field of ethylene from major international oil companies in the Middle East and various countries of the world including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, Singapore, Germany, France and many other countries.
