INDIAN ENVOY VISITING PAPUA

Biak, March 24 (ANTARA) - Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Birend Nanda and his entourage arrived here on Tuesday for a visit to inspect a satellite at the Institute of National outer Space Aviation (Lapan).

The Indian envoy was accompanied by a secretary, Sugandhi Rajaram, and three taff members, Mirza Mohammad Zaher, Donaldia Subhash, and Nandamuri Jagarao.

Biak district head Melianus Maryen and deputy district head Alimuddin Sabe greeted the Indian envoy at Biak airport and explained about development and security and public order in the district.

"Biak Numfor district administration is open to Indian investors who want to invest in various sectors here," Biak district administration human relation spokesman Mulyadi quoted the Melianus Maryen as saying.

After a meeting with Maryen, the Indian ambassador and his entourage visited the complex of Lapan on Gua Jepang street to inspect the conditions of an Indian satellite.

From Biak, Birend Nanda and his entoruage would fly to Jayapura on Wednesday for a meeting with Papua Govenor Barnabas Suebu.
