Deputy Premier receives WHO delegation

Manama, Feb. 6 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa received Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh who introduced to him the World Health Organisation (WHO)’s experts delegation visiting the Kingdom at the invitation of the Health Ministry. Headed by Dr. Ahmed Basel, the WHO experts will fully study the types of pollutants including electromagnetic emissions in Bahrain and their impact on public health in implementation of a Cabinet resolution. Their visit comes as part of ongoing cooperation between Bahrain and the WHO, the deputy Premier said, praising the organisation's activities and its programmes and field visits to maintain public health in WHO member countries and all over the world. Dr. Basel expressed delight to visit Bahrain and lauded the hygienic and environmental level in the Kingdom in view of low electromagnetic emissions from telecommunication masts thanks to the regulations applicable in the Kingdom similar to advanced nations in this field.
