Crown Prince's Centre for Training and Medical Research Opened

Manama, Feb. 7(BNA): Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, the Crown Prince’s Centre for Training and Medical Research was opened here today, marking the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF)’s celebration of its 51st anniversary. Deputised by HRH the Crown Prince, the President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, inaugurated the centre, in the presence of the BDF’s Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Dheyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi. After some Holy Quran verses had been recited, the Commander of the Royal Medical Services, Major-General Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali A Khalifa, delivered a statement in which he lauded the sound directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, the support of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the constant follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince and the backing of the BDF Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa. He expressed the Royal Medical Services’ pride in its 40-year-long development process, highlighting keenness to constantly enhance the efficiency of the medical services to keep abreast of the new and innovated methods. He asserted that the idea of the "Crown Prince’s Centre for Training and Medical Research" was first introduced 12 years ago, noting that the establishment of the medical facility is in line with the strong belief that training is the cornerstone for every medical institution seeking distinction in the regularly-changing medical field. He stressed that the "Crown Prince’s Centre for Training and Medical Research" will enable the Royal Medical Services to be a global leader in the field of medical education by providing high quality modern technology in simulation-based medical education in order to raise the medical staff’s knowledge and skills and improve the quality of medical services delivered to patients. Concluding his statement, he extended thanks to all Royal Medical Services’ staff for their dedication and commitment to the BDF’s values, wishing the kingdom ever-lasting security and prosperity. The main conference hall was named after Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Khalifa in recognition of pivotal role, as SCH president, in developing health services at the Bahrain Defence Force, the homeland and the region. The ceremony showcased the biography of Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Khalifa. Then, Professor Karl Miller delivered a statement on the occasion. After that, a film highlighting the Crown Prince’s Centre for Training and Medical Research’s sections and services was shown. Then, the SCH president honoured the centre’s sponsors and work team. The Royal Medical Services’ Commander presented the SCH president with a commemorative gift. He also presented him with the annual report of the Royal Medical Services. The SCH toured the centre’s electronic library, training sections, anatomy laboratories, advanced experimental operating rooms, as well as various advanced treatment units which are provided with modern and advanced medical equipment. The centre’s inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials, BDF officers and delegations from brotherly and friendly countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, Ireland, Austria, USA, France, Germany and Turkey.
