Public Security Chief meets delegations

Manama, Feb. 12(BNA): Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan, received on Tuesday heads and members of delegations that are taking part in a regional visit to the General Directorate of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security to review Bahrain's implementation of the second and fifth chapters of the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The Chief welcomed the delegations, highlighting the endorsement of the National Anti-corruption Strategy in Bahrain on 9 December 2013 and its dimensions that are based on the convention. He hailed the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister to enhance the work mechanisms of the regulatory authorities and improving awareness to reinforce transparency, integrity and accountability. The Chief also highlighted the main anti-corruption legislation and steps and wished the guests all the best in their visit. The visiting team will draft a report on Bahrain's commitment to the implementation of the convention and the successful experiences and practices.
