Moderate discourse symposium plan discussed

Manama, Feb. 18 (BNA): The High Organising Committee for the annual scholarly seminar to promote moderate pulpit discourse held its regular meeting chaired by Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al Hajeri. The meeting cited the tremendous efforts of the committee members to ensure the success of the upcoming seminar to be held in collaboration with universities, official institutions and NGOs. The committee endorsed a detailed itinerary for the seminar scheduled to be held under the patronage of Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, on March 3-4. The committee approved 16 watertight research papers to be presented in the dialogue sessions prepared by professors from University of Bahrain (UoB), Applied Science University (ASU), Ahlia University, Sunni Endowment Directorate speechmakers, Holy Quran Affairs Directorate and Islamic heritage scholars. The two-day symposium will comprise the inaugural speech of Sunni Endowment Council’s president, a visual presentation to depict the Sunni Endowment Directorate efforts in promoting intellectual security and moderateness within the community, and will also honour the donors and participants. Shaikh Rashid Al Hajeri stressed the importance of showing up by religious office holders, speechmakers, preachers, imams to attend the seminar in view of its significance in the performance of their assigned duties in the mosques.
