HM King receives Housing Minister

Manama, Feb. 18 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Safriyah Palace today Housing Minister Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar who presented him with a copy of a book (Sustainable Cities for a Brighter Future) which highlights the achievements of the Housing Ministry and provides statistics on the projects and services provided by the ministry nationwide. HM the King lauded the efforts made in compiling the book, thanking the Housing Minister and all the ministry staff for their dedicated efforts in implementing the housing projects and reducing the waiting lists by diversifying alternatives and launching new initiatives to optimise services for citizens and boost families' welfare. HM the King underscored unwavering keenness to meet citizens' aspirations by providing them with suitable housing that guarantees family stability. "Bahraini people are worth of every care from us," HM said, stressing the need to preserve achievements in the housing field and ensure their development for the posterity. The book (Sustainable Cities for a Brighter Future) was presented to HM the King in conjunction with the kingdom's celebrations of the National Action Charter Anniversary. The Housing Minister extended heartfelt congratulations to HM the King, lauding Bahrain's achievements, mainly in the housing field, during the comprehensive development march spearheaded by HM the King. The book sheds light on the housing accomplishments since the early sixties up to date. The book also casts light on the ministry's progress in implementing the royal order to build 40,000 housing units of which 25,000 units were completed under the government's Action Plan (2015-2018). The book also shows a transition into a new phase laden with new initiatives in the housing filed by broadening the scope of strategic partnership with the private sector to optimise services and boost citizens' welfare.
