Foreign Minister receives British official

Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): The Minister of foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met in his office at the Ministry’s General Court today British Minister of State for the Middle East at Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Alistair Burt, on the sidelines of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to head the British delegation participating in the UK-Bahrain joint working group meeting. During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed Mr. Alistair Burt, expressing pride of the Kingdom of Bahrain in deep-rooted historical relations with the United Kingdom which are based on long years of distinguished friendship and bilateral work and are characterised by progress and development at various political, economic and security levels. He stressed Bahrain's keenness on continuous coordination with the United Kingdom so as to boost the interests of the both countries and their peoples. For his part, Alistair Burt affirmed the United Kingdom’s keenness to develop relations and cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in various fields. He also asserted continuous bilateral coordination regarding regional and international developments. He praised the role played by the Kingdom of Bahrain in promoting security and peace, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain progress and prosperity. (MOFA)
