QEWC, KAHRAMAA, Japanese Chubu Renew Partnership
Doha, February 23 (QNA) - Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC), Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), and Japanese Chubu Electric Power Company have signed the 6th memorandum of understanding (MoU) of the Partnership project among them.
At Qatar Petroleum (QP) headquarters, the MoU was signed by Kahramaa President Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari QEWC Managing Director and General Manager Fahad bin Hamad Al Mohannadi, Executive Vice President, Chubu Electric Power Satoshi Onoda, in the presence of HE the Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad Sherida Al Kaabi and President and Director of Chubu Satoru Katsuno.
The main aspect of the renewal of the 6th memorandum is the continuation of KAHRAMAA and Chubu working together in the field of substations, education and development in human resources, safety management, smart meters and customer service.
It will also discuss the continuation of partnership between the QEWC and Chubu, in the field of environmental protection, safety management and quality of maintenance.
The next phase will focus on the exchange of human resources to enhance joint cooperation within the framework of the partnership project.
The project also includes the formation of two working groups, one for "Power Systems", which includes KAHRAMAA and Chubu, and the other one for "Power Generating", which includes QEWC and Chubu.
KAHRAMAA and QEWC have launched a partnership project with Chubu 12 years ago, aiming at further economic growth in Qatar through cooperation and exchange of experiences in electricity sector.
Chubu, as the First Buyer of Qatari LNG in the world, commenced receipt of deliveries of LNG from Qatar since January 1997. (QNA)
