HM the King addresses Arab-EU Summit

Sharm el-Sheikh, Feb. 24 (BNA): "The Arab region has always been a cradle of tolerance, pluralism and peaceful coexistence between religions", said His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. Addressing the opening session of the first Arab-EU Summit, he took pride in Bahrain’s strides in this regard, urging concerted efforts to protect and consolidate these lofty values which, he said, represent the cornerstone of global peace. "History has always taught us that security, stability and development are inseparable all over the world", said HM the King, stressing the necessity of strengthening the alliance to eradicate terrorism, deal firmly with terror sponsors, bolster collective cooperation and coordination, on the basis mutual respect and balanced international relations and strategic interests. This came as he took part, alongside Arab kings, princes and presidents, in the opening session of the 1st Arab-EU Summit, which was inaugurated by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the International Conference Centre in Sharm Al-Sheikh.
