BTEA CEO participates in Arab Tourism Day celebration in Saudi Arabia

Manama, Feb. 26 (BNA): Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) Shaikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa participated in the celebration of the Arab Tourism Day held yesterday in the city of Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, following naming the city as the 2019 Arab Tourism Capital. The celebration was held under the patronage of Al Ahsa Governor HH Prince Badr bin Mohmmed bin Jalawi and was organized by Al Ahsa Amusement and Tourism Company in cooperation with Arab Tourism Organization (ATO). It was attended by ATO’s President Dr. Bander bin Fahad Al Fahaid and prominent personalities of tourism sector. The BTEA CEO expressed delight in taking part in the celebration that shed light on cultural and touristic sites in the region. He said the Arab Tourism Day centers on the application of the sustainable development principles at various tourist destinations with consideration to preserving environment, cultural, social and economic components of countries. The Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism has recently named Al Ahsa as the 2019 Arab Tourism Capital during its 21st meeting held in Alexandria, Egypt.
