Minister: Saudi Arabia adopts balanced, peace-promoting media policies

Riyadh, Feb. 27 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, met Saudi Media Minister, Turki bin Abdulla Al-Shabanah, on the sidelines of the Media Forum, held here by the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud Charity Foundation. Al-Romaihi stressed that Bahrain will always remain steadfast in supporting sisterly Saudi Arabia in the face of the tendentious media campaigns launched against it, adding that Bahrain backs all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its security and stability, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. The minister stressed that the "desperate" attempts to undermine Saudi Arabia’s distinguished status and leading role across the Arab and Islamic worlds, as well as its position as the cornerstone of regional security and stability will fail thanks to Saudi people’s rallying behind its wise leadership and keenness to defend the capabilities of its country, which is "dear to us all". Al-Romaihi pointed out that Saudi Arabia adopts "balanced media policies that promote good and peace, and rejects extremism and terrorism, which makes it immune against such tendentious attempts." The Information Minister indicated that the suspicious media campaigns, launched by regional parties, whose motives are known, and which use intellectual extremism and media chaos as the basis for their work, confirm that Saudi Arabia is on the right path to defend the religion and protect the capabilities and gains of the Arab and Islamic nations against the powers of evil and extremism. The minister emphasised that Bahrain will always stand by sisterly Saudi Arabia, under all circumstances, in line with the call of the late Founder HM King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Saud, who, during his last visit to Bahrain, said: "Our hearts will remain united until the Day of Judgement." During the meeting, the two ministers reviewed areas of media cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed the latest regional and global developments, as well as ways to enhance bilateral media and communications cooperation.
