Palm Oil Players To Deliberate On Industry's Pressing Issues At POC 2019
KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (Bernama) – The 30th Palm and Lauric Oils Price Outlook Conference and Exhibition (POC 2019) , to be hosted by Bursa Malaysia this month, will gather industry players to deliberate on the most pressing issues confronting it and the response.
Themed, “Managed Uncertainties, Harvest Global Opportunities”, the two-day event from March 5 will feature a line-up of highly reputable speakers sharing their expertise across two plenary sessions, three panel sessions and presentations on current global economics, as well as price outlook papers on lauric oils, biodiesel and oleochemicals.
The returning prominent speakers at the POC 2019 include Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific for CME Group Christopher Fix, Chairman of LMC International Dr James Fry, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Director of United Plantations Bhd Carl Bek-Nielsen and Malaysian Palm Oil Council chief executive officer Dr Kalyana Sundram.
“POC 2019 comes at an opportune time in bringing about engaging conversations among industry experts in view of uncertainties within it over the past year, among others, global trade tensions and imbalanced supply and demand.
“We are optimistic in discovering positive solutions together as we continuously evolve with innovative strategies to tackle industry challenges,” Bursa Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Muhamad Umar said in a statement.
He said over the last three decades, POC had played an integral role in promoting innovation and sustainable growth within the global oils and fats industry.
The exchange, he noted, would strive to continuously improve the ecosystem, introduce enhancements to products and provide industry players more trading opportunities that will allow them to navigate better the volatility in the industry.
