Foreign Minister meets with Indian counterpart

Abu Dhabi, Mar. 1 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met today with the Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, Sushma Swaraj, on the sidelines of the 46th session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s Council of Foreign Minister in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed deep-rooted historic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of India, which are constantly flourishing and developing. He also expressed the Kingdom’s aspirations to further develop these relations and enhance joint cooperation for the common interest of the two countries and friendly peoples. The Minister also commended the ongoing coordination between the two countries towards many issues, including combating all forms of extremism and terrorism. For her part, the Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, Sushma Swaraj expressed pride in the relations of friendship between the two countries, affirming keenness to develop cooperation at all levels. She also praised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts in supporting peace and stability in the region. (MOFA)
